If you like exciting experiences, this is highly recommended. In various old prisons in the Netherlands you can experience what it is like to sleep in a prison cell. Several prisons have been converted into a hotel.
In the center of Leeuwarden you can spend the night in a large building that has been a detention center since 1500 used to be. Willem Holleeder, among others, was imprisoned here. You can choose from a normal or luxury cell for two or four people.
An overnight stay at a houseboat makes a night out even more romantic. You can sleep on a houseboat in Zeewolde, Rotterdam and Amersfoort. For the real Amsterdam feeling, choose an overnight stay on an Amsterdam houseboat.

It is located right in the center of Zaandam and right next to a train station. This hotel is ideal for a day of shopping. Within 15 minutes by train you are in Amsterdam Center. Zaandam itself also has a lot of choice of shops. At the end of the day you can watch a movie at the Pathé, which is only a 5-minute walk from the hotel.
If you like culture more, you can spend a day at the Zaanse Schans.
